Agents merge

March 2009

Two of Cambridge’s best known and most respected estate agencies have merged their operations to become one of the most prominent and influential residential property agencies in the local area.

On 30th March 2009, Bradshaws Residential acquired Rooke Wood and Miller. The newly merged company will trade under the ‘Bradshaws incorporating Rooke Wood and Miller’ banner –  a move which will immediately propel the estate agency into the top tier of Cambridge’s residential property specialists.

Commenting Andrew Bradshaw said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Mark Wood and his team. This merger between our two companies clearly positions us ideally for future growth. It is an indication of our ongoing commitment to Cambridge and its residential property market.

Our objective is to become the agency of choice for buyers and sellers. We are looking to the medium and long-term and are well-positioned for the economic upturn.

We have already noticed a healthy upswing in the volume of instructions we are receiving and sales we are achieving each month”.

Mark Wood said: “Both Andrew and I have worked tirelessly to build the reputations of our respective agencies and both of us have jealously guarded our independence.

Cambridge needs a significant independent estate agency with a solid track record of achievement behind it led by experienced and respected property professionals.

Together Andrew and I have around sixty years of combined experience of the Cambridge property market and I am delighted that we will be working together.”

The current Rooke Wood and Miller service in Regent Street will transfer to Bradshaws more modern, central premises at Dukes Court in Newmarket Road. The RWM Sawston office will remain giving Bradshaws Residential a commanding position in the south and central areas of the city as well as their Histon Road office serving the north city areas and villages beyond.

In May 2008 Bradshaws Residential merged with Encore a new homes specialist. This expansion was followed in November 2008 with the appointment of Anton Frost who heads up Bradshaws Residential booming lettings division. In February 2009, the company launched their innovative concierge service with Time Lifestyle Management.

In all, a refreshingly positive pattern of business development in the current economic climate.
