Haverhill Residential Development
March 2011
Haverhill residential development site has capacity of 100 units
A major residential development site in Haverhill is being marketed by Cambridge consultant surveyors Januarys on the instructions of St Edmundsbury Borough Council.
The site, in Hamlet Road, is about 3.5 hectares (9.5 acres) in total and around 2.5 hectares (6.1 acres) has been allocated by the council for residential development. It’s for sale freehold and with vacant possession.
Situated to the south of the High Street, Hamlet Road is a predominantly residential area with good access to Haverhill’s shops and leisure facilities.
“The site is an old football ground (the football has transferred to upgraded facilities in Chalkstone Way) with some extra adjoining land. It’s mostly rectangular, on a number of different levels, and is surrounded on two sides by a belt of trees. There is direct access to Hamlet Road.
As Nick Muncey from Januarys explains, however, any developer will need to bring more than money to the table.
“This is a significant development in Haverhill and the council needs to be confident that the purchaser will be of the right pedigree to ensure a successful conclusion to the project.
“Naturally, any interested developers will have to submit tenders, which need to be in by Monday April 11th.
