Januarys extends its reach into Norfolk with Sloley appraisal

We  have been extending our influence into Norfolk after Graham Smith was called on to undertake a development appraisal near the village of Sloley.

The appraisal concerned Sloley Farm, just to the east of Sloley itself, and specifically some barns that are intended to be converted into houses. 

Our Director, Graham Smith, explains what was involved. “Appraisals are undertaken for a number of reasons. In this particular instance, the client was keen to assess the value and suitability of land as security for the loan required to complete the conversions. Recently similar developments have provided holiday accommodation, but in this case top specification homes will be built.

“The barns themselves date back to the 18^th century and are still in reasonable order. They are largely unaltered from the original construction and retain many of the traditional architectural features of this type of building. Threshing floors, stables with hayloft above, a tumbler shed and granary are all still very much in evidence. 

“If the scheme goes ahead, the client is aiming to build three homes with garages, all set around a courtyard. The houses would be well situated for both Norwich, 12 miles away, and the coast, some 14 miles to the north, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.”

The work is just one of many schemes that Januarys has undertaken in and around the Norwich area in 2011 and is further evidence that it is a firm with a truly regional reach.
