The Leashold Reform Act 1967 gives leasehold house owners the right to purchase the freehold on preferential terms.

The enfranchisement price is calculated by reference to one of a number of alternative bases depending on the size and value of the property. The tenant is responsible for the landlord's surveyors and solicitors fees.
