Nanna Mexico moves
February 2009
When Nanna Mexico, a specialist Mexican food outlet in Regent Street wanted to expand, they turned to consultant surveyors, Januarys to help them find new premises.
Rather than a wholesale move to a new food outlet, with all the associated upheaval and costs, Januarys came up with an inspired solution – why not take over the empty post office next door, knock through the dividing wall and expand the business without actually moving?
So Januarys opened negotiations with Endurance Estates (Regent Street) Ltd, landlords for both premises. The lease on the post office was surrendered and a new lease combining both properties was created. Januarys also managed the Planning Application process associated with the enlarged premises.
Commenting, John Russell from Januarys said: “Nanna Mexico has a very popular business in a vibrant area of the city with an expanding customer base. We were very keen to keep any business disturbance to an absolute minimum and at the same time help the business to grow. So expanding it without moving was the ideal solution.
